What you will be doing

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director, Clinical Research Business Development is responsible for identifying new business opportunities as well as maintaining the ongoing strategic business relationship between Xcenda and key clients. In addition, the associate will be responsible for proposal development, Salesforce maintenance, monitoring/management of business development metrics, and working with the Prospective Studies Team Lead and members of other Xcenda Service Lines to develop and implement strategic and tactical goals that are designed to maintain the influx of new business opportunities and grow new business. This position will require that the candidate:

  • Has proven experience and can support discussion regarding global prospective clinical study design and execution.
  • Is knowledgeable and confident discussing real-world evidence (RWE) related topics with clients in order to identify potential opportunities and promote Xcenda’s capabilities.
  • Is able to develop and recommend strategic and tactical recommendations to clients that support their overall RWE needs.
  • Has business development experience in similar/relevant industries or fields.
  • Has an established and broad network of contacts within the clinical operations, medical affairs or RWE areas.
  • Is capable of developing proposals and budgets and overseeing NBD activities for Prospective Studies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Driving global prospective studies business development efforts in a dynamic and professional manner.
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical goals to support the growth of prospective studies business in support of Xcenda’s overall strategic goals.
  • Identifies global target clients and establishes relationships in support of identifying new business leads and RFPs.
  • Consults with clients to develop RWE strategies considering such factors as the client's vision and goals for value evidence development.
  • Maintains strong client relationships and seeks new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering capabilities presentations to key clients
  • Works closely and collaboratively with the Prospective Studies team and broader RWE service line to achieve team and service line revenue targets
  • Leads proposal development and delivery for specific RWE work types; actively participates in proposal development and delivery for other service lines as appropriate
  • Ensures timeliness, accuracy, quality, and completeness of all business development and NBD/project activities
  • Assists global RWE team by identifying and developing relationships with potential study / data partners.
  • Maintains chargeability requirements by supporting prospective studies content development and/or operational activities.

This role is 100% remote for candidates located in the United States.

What your background should look like 

  • Bachelor’s degree in life-sciences or related field (post graduate degree preferred)
  • Direct experience in all facets of clinical study design and execution for a minimum of 8 years.
  • Proven and documented track record of success in identifying, fostering and growing clinical research businesses.
  • Must have an established reputation and established connections to clients within the industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of GCPs, GDPR and local privacy regulations governing the collection and utilization of RWE.
  • High level of organization and self-motivated to manage multiples clients simultaneously
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of significant assignments. May cross fields.
• Broad technical knowledge of outcomes research and health economics
• Structured and well organized
• Excellent writing skills as well as the ability to communicate complex material in presentations and discussions in a straightforward manner
• Ability to work well in a dynamic, successful consulting firm, which maintains high quality standards and demands excellence
• Database management and analytical and statistical skills
• Economic modeling skills
• Medical writing skills
• Experience developing outcomes research/health economics study protocols
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong clinical skills preferred
• Strong work ethic
