The Director / Sr. Director will provide scientific leadership for real world evidence (RWE) customers and project teams. Experience working in administrative claims databases, with a knowledge of data-structures and the limitations of various types of databases is essential for providing scientific leadership. The potential candidate will coach, mentor, and train junior team members in scientific management of client engagements, methods, and best research practices, and will have experience consulting to clients to provide informative RWE-based ideas and perspectives in terms of value messaging, research questions and study design, as well as publication planning.

The Director / Sr. Director role will have outstanding client-facing skills, excellent communication skills, and deep knowledge of methods and study designs used in retrospective observational research. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to provide outstanding real-world insights for our pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology clients.


  • Lead the development and implementation of RWE/health economics and outcomes research in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders, including generating evidence in support of customer value propositions and overseeing completion of projects, including reports, posters, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
  • Direct implementation of tactical planning activities required to achieve health economics and outcomes research strategic objectives in consultation with clients.
  • Collaborate with research team to ensure methods and tools for health economics and outcomes research remain at the leading edge in meeting client requirements.
  • Implement appropriate training for research team to maximize client satisfaction.
  • Manage a team of research professionals to ensure a strong consultative approach to meeting client requirements.
  • Lead or facilitate scientific discussions with clients regarding to ensure their satisfaction with and understanding of the methodology and design of studies.


  • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills, including advanced statistical modeling and understanding SAS and/or R programming to meet project requirements tied to study designs.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in developing study design and the application of statistical methods to solving problems in the pharmaceutical industry to close evidence gaps and enable internal and external decisions.
  • Strong record of RWE-based research publications, particularly using claims data.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience in mentoring and training teams as well as previous experience having at least 3-5 direct reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions independently and to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional client engagement skills including strong verbal and written communications and an ability to move project timelines forward efficiently and meet client needs.
  • Ability to confidently and clearly present and interpret research findings with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Requires at least a master’s degree in Biostatistics/Statistics, Epidemiology, Health & Outcomes Research, Pharmacy, Pharmacy Administration or Public Health or related field. PhD is a plus.
  • Director role requires 5 to 8 years’ experience; Sr. Director role requires >8 years’ experience.
