*We are looking to fill this role in our London, UK; Montreal, Canada; Bethesda, MD or Waltham, MA offices.
The Lead Statistician will support studies in Health Economics, including analytic support for economic models, meta-analysis, network meta-analysis or mixed treatment comparisons, trial simulation, and exploratory analysis of data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be part of multi-disciplinary research teams to provide statistical expertise and methodological leadership at all stages of projects from planning to dissemination.  Responsibilities include:
  • Working independently to lead statistical aspects of projects.
  • Contributing to the preparation of study plans, reviewing study materials, developing statistical analysis plans, writing programs to execute analyses, and assist with the interpretation and dissemination of finings.
  • Participating to meetings with clients to lead discussions around statistical methods and to present results from analyses.
  • Overseeing more junior statisticians and/or overseeing their work in the context of projects.
  • Extensive practical experience in the application of statistics in health economics, outcomes research and epidemiology.
  • Strong basis in fundamental statistical concepts and methods and familiarity with techniques such as development of predictive equations, survival analysis (including parametric methods), longitudinal data analysis, meta-analysis, mixed treatment comparison, and other hierarchical analysis techniques etc.
  • Strong statistical programming skills with standard software, including SAS, R and STATA.
  • Strong communication (spoken and written) and problem-solving skills, and an ability to learn-quickly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in non-technical terms, with project team members.
  • Work well in a team as well as independently, and be able to take leadership role with regard to methodological elements in projects.
Education and Experience
PhD or MSc in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Related field with five years of experience, or BSc in Statistics, Biostatistics or Related field with seven or more years of experience.
Computer Skills
SAS (Base, Stat, Graph, Macro), R, SPSS, STATA, WinBUGS.
